Welcome to a blog dedicated to talking about the outdoors in Minnesota. We are a family who works and attends school indoors, but once it is quitting time, head outside to enjoy everything we can about the state of Minnesota. Our hope to squash myths from people around the country and the world about this just being a frozen tundra and also to give ideas to people living in the state who might want to venture outside of the buildings that occupy much of the landscape.

Our family enjoys everything about the outdoors, whether it is gardening, hiking, camping, skiing or fishing, we are happiest when we can spend time with mother nature. My wife and I have been married for 20+ years and have taken advantage of as much as possible over those years. As our family grew and kids came along, we adjusted so they could get into the swing of things as well. Yes my kids enjoy the “electronic age” as much as the rest of society, but they also know they can escape all of dings and vibrations when sitting in the middle of a lake or enjoying a cross country ski trail.

We hope to entertain, educate and provide opinions and thoughts on activities we partake in throughout the year. So follow along with us as we document our experiences of the outdoors in each of the seasons our state of Minnesota has to offer.

Who are the authors?

Mike- My name is Mike and I am the idea’s guy of the family. My son and I have been talking about doing something like this for awhile and well I just figured it was time to just do it, think that catch phrase has been used before. Did I mention that I am the humor guy of the family? I enjoy all things outdoors but really enjoy fishing, camping, biking and hiking. This should be a fun adventure and hopefully we can provide a bit of entertainment for you as embark on this journey with you.

Tyler- My name is Tyler and I am the fisherman of the family.  I am so excited that we started this blog to bring you the outdoors of Minnesota.  I enjoy fishing, hiking, Nordic Skiing Bowhunting for deer, biking, camping, and boating.  I hope you can learn about my hobbies through my posts.

Carrie- I am the planner of the family.  I enjoy gardening, hiking, camping, birdwatching, and just sitting outside enjoying the nature of our great state.
